Cryovac selected by Czech processor
A leading Czech meat company has selected Cryovac packaging automation to boost its quality and sales.
Following pressure from retailers to improve packaging performance, Kostelecké uzeniny decided to upgrade from standard shrink bags to high-performance shrinkable films and automation. Long-term packaging partner Sealed Air Cryovac has now provided the company with Cryovac RS2000 film running with the innovative Cryovac Ulma Flow-Vac (FV) system.
Kostelecké installed the FV45 model, based on horizontal form-fill-seal technology operating at very high speeds and loading into Cryovac vacuum equipment. The newly packed products have now been distributed via Tesco, the Makro/Metro chain and smaller retailers, as well as hotels and restaurants.
The technology is also said to provide a longer shelf-life of about 10 days. As the meat is vacuum-packed, its quality is also enhanced, added the company.
