E.coli fears prompts US meat recall
An E.coli outbreak in the US has prompted the recall of almost half a million kilos of minced beef by one Californian-based processor.
Valley Meat Company, based in Modesto, California, has issued the recall for ground beef and beef patties sold across the US and internationally, and processed between 2 October, 2009 and 12 January, 2010. The majority of the products were sold frozen.
The recall was issues after seven cases of people falling ill with E.coli poisoning was linked to the products.
