Extension to BBC Chop Idol date

Young butchers are being given a last-minute chance to get their entry in for the BBC's Chop Idol competition. Producers have extended the deadline by a week, with butchers now able to email a last-minute application before 10pm this Sunday (8 August).

A spokesman for the BBC's Young Talent series, of which the Young Butcher category has proved a resounding hit, said: "Applications are flying in from every corner of the UK. We're seeing a fantastic amount of interest yet again from young butchers keen to show the world their skills."
