Ex-Corrie man signs deal with Keelham
Former Corrie regular Sean Wilson popped into Keelham Hall Farm Shop last month to mark the launch of a partnership with his award-winning cheese company.
Sean, who played Coronation Street's Martin Platt for 21 years, established The Saddleworth Cheese Co last year and has started a supply partnership with the shop near Bradford for his four-strong range of Lancashire cheeses.
Saddleworth Cheese Co's Muldoons Picnic, a traditional crumbly cheese, is the current holder of the British Cheese Award in its class, while the business' blue-veined cheese, Smelly Apeth, holds the equivalent Irish title.
Sean said: "I have always been very interested in food and, over the years, have made my own breads, sausages and black puddings, but my real passion has been to create artisan cheeses.
"I am a great believer in buying locally and use the best Lancashire milk from cows in the Ribble Valley's Trough of Bowland in my cheeses."
He added: "Keelham Hall Farm Shop was on my list of potential retailers, as they, too, place such major emphasis on sourcing quality local food. I love the fact that so many people come here to buy locally produced food."
