Moy Park win local awards

Food processor Moy Park managers are celebrating by picking up two awards from the 2010 Craigavon Business Awards for processing excellence and supporting the local economy.

The Northern Irish firm picked up the Manufacturing Excellence Award and jointly won the Outstanding Contribution to the Local Economy title in a ceremony organised by Craigavon Borough Council’s Development Department, in association with Portadown Chamber of Commerce.

Held at the Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre, the awards marked contribution made by companies throughout the area to the economy of both the Borough and Northern Ireland.

Company CEO and MD Nigel Dunlop said: “This is wonderful news for Moy Park. The heart of our business lies here in Craigavon and the awards are testament to the hard work of all of our employees. We look forward to continuing our investment to Craigavon in the future.”

Moy Park are currently signing a deal to buy-out rivals O’Kane Poultry and has its European head office based in Craigavon, where it has two fresh food manufacturing facilities employing over 1500 people.
