Eblex sponsors new equipment zone at Dairy Event
A new area for processing equipment manufacturers has been created at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show in September.
Called 'Meatmakers', the zone will cover butchery, meat processing, packaging, labelling, cool storage and transport equipment, at the show at Birmingham's NEC.
The Meatmakers area is aimed at helping farmers add value to their meat, by opening a farm shop or selling boxed meat at the farm gate.
According to Nick Everington, chief executive of the event’s organiser, the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers: "We are aware that these farmers will require a set of skills and resources ranging from knowledge of meat cuts and preparation to branding and marketing as well as access to chiller units and slaughter house facilities, if they are to succeed."
The show will take place from 7 to 8 September. Go to www.dairyevent.co.uk for more information.
