Farm shop hires town hall to recruit staff
Pontefract farm shop Farmer Copleys has added three new staff members to its team via an unusual recruitment drive.
Instead of going through the usual process of using employment agencies to find new staff, the business this time decided to make the decision itself.
The farm shop hired Pontefract Town Hall and invited anyone with a passion for food to come along and tell the company all about themselves. Farmer Copleys said it was so impressed it has now hired three new staff instead of just the planned one new recruit. Heather Copley added: "To say that we were shocked by the response would be an understatement. Not only did the door never close, with more and more people coming along to take part, but the calibre of those who attended on the day was fantastic. In fact, it was so good, we couldn't choose a winner and ended up with not one, not two, but three new appointments."
New recruit Gemma has now joined the team in the shop, Sally has joined the café team and Mal has become the new sales rep in the butchery.
