SuperMeat & Fish Awards places selling fast

Voting is now closed for this year's Meat Industry Personality of the Year, and the winner will be revealed on the night at the UK's leading meat industry celebration, the SuperMeat & Fish Awards 2010.

The popular evening event, which takes place at the Park Lane Hilton in London on 1 July, will see either Sainsbury's Tom Harvey, ABP's Richard Cracknell, Eblex's John Cross or the Food Standards Agency's Tim Smith take home the title won by Asda's Jim Viggars last year.

MTJ editor Ed Bedington said: "The votes have been pouring in, but the poll is now closed. We will look forward to revealing our winner on the night, and I'm sure it will prove to be an interesting announcement."

This year's SuperMeat & Fish Awards sees Asda, Budgens, The Co-operative, Lidl, Tesco and Sainsbury's all competing for titles in the UK's premier meat industry awards. The event aims to recognise and reward excellence across the supermarket retailing of meat and fish. This prestigious event evaluates products and stores, with one retailer being declared the overall SuperMeat Retailer of the Year.

Bedington added: "This year's event is proving to be a big draw, with tables selling out fast. We're rapidly approaching our limits on table numbers, so if you intend to join us on the evening, book now to avoid disappointment.
