Dicksons butchers await Coutts result
South Shields butchery chain Dicksons is gearing up for the Coutts UK Family Business of the Year awards in London tomorrow (Tuesday), having beaten off hundreds of other family businesses to reach the final.
Dicksons has been named a national finalist in the prestigious awards and will find out this week if it is crowned as national champion.
The Coutts prize is an annual awards event that recognises the finest family businesses with headquarters in England or Wales.
A Dicksons spokesperson said: “Reaching the national finals in such a high-profile award is testament to where the business is today – with a thriving retail chain across the north east and a successful, growing wholesale division that has seen Dicksons’ products make their way to supermarket shelves and chillers across the country.
“Despite its success, it remains true to its family values which run through the very veins of the business. In fact, in winning the regional finals, the judges commented on the strength of family values in the business and commended Dicksons for the influence that they ride over their business strategy.”
The national prize-giving ceremony will happen on 8 June, but the company has said that, whatever the outcome, it is already delighted to have reached the final.
