BHJ UK Protein Foods has strengthened its management team with the appointment of an experienced new production manager.

The Midlands-based meat ingredients company has recruited Dave Smith to head up production at its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Tipton. As well as being responsible for overseeing all production carried out on-site, Smith will be responsible for staff training and development.

BHJ's sales director, Richard Parnell said: "Dave brings with him a wealth of relevant experience and it's great to have him on board. We're confident he will be a valuable asset to our team and we're looking forward to benefiting from his expertise."

Smith was previously employed by UK food giant Walkers, where his responsibilities included training roll-out and production optimisation.

"The decision to move to BHJ was simple," he said. "The company has a strong reputation for innovation and quality and it is committed to growth, making it an exciting place to be.

"I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead and my aim is to work in partnership with my team to further improve production and help BHJ achieve its business goals."
