Asda Scotland increases Rankin pie range
Asda Scotland is to increase its range of Rankin Selection pies, courtesy of Northern Irish manufacturer Millar Savoury Foods, in 30 of its stores.
The brand is said to have performed extremely well in Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco in Northern Ireland, as well as in Sainsbury’s Scotland, where it was listed from its initial launch last March. The range is also stocked in Dunnes Stores in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Rankin Selection pies were created as a result of a collaboration between Millar Savoury Foods and chef Paul Rankin to fill a gap in the mainstream retail sector for a range of premium quality, individually portioned pies.
Millar Savoury Foods commercial director Clarke Millar said: “We are delighted with how our Rankin Selection pies have performed to date and, following on from our latest break into the Scottish market with Asda, we look forward to seeing the range stocked more widely throughout UK and Ireland.”
The full range of individual pies includes Chunky Chicken & Leek, Irish Steak & Kidney, Irish Steak & Roasted Root Vegetables, Irish Potato & Leek and Peppered Venison & Mushrooms.
