Eisteddfod Visitors See That It's Cool2Cook

HCC is attending the week-long event for the first time ever, to communicate the importance of food preparation, diet, health and nutrition to a younger audience - the consumers of tomorrow.

HCC's newly launched Cool2Cook cookbook for children will be the main feature of the stand, with various cooking demonstrations based on nutritional recipes, games and quizzes being undertaken throughout the week, all aimed at promoting the "get cooking" message to younger people.

Children and young people will also have the opportunity to try their hand at cooking, as well as testing their ability with props such as a hula hoop and juggling balls.

Eisteddfod yr Urdd Sir Conwy is one of Europe's largest youth festivals and is held this year between 26-31 May 2008 at Gloddaeth Isaf Farm near Llandudno.

Elwen Roberts, HCC's consumer executive said: "We know children love to cook and the new Cool2Cook book and the roadshow is designed in an attractive, colourful and fun way in order to entice children to get cooking. It is vital that children eat healthily and become aware from an early age of the effects their eating habits can have on them.

She continued: "HCC believes that the Urdd Eisteddfod provides a great platform for our message and I would urge everyone to visit our stand to find out for themselves how cool cooking can be!"
