Bluetongue vaccination guide

As the threat of midges arrives with the summer sun, EBLEX has launched an online 'how to' guide on Bluetongue vaccination for beef and sheep producers.

The practical guide - available at www.eblex.org.uk - highlights the potential costs of the disease to livestock producers, estimated at £17 a head for suckler cows and £19 per ewe, and offers timely advice on safe and efficient vaccination, including a useful checklist.

EBLEX will be distributing a leaflet version of the guide to producers signed up to its Better Returns Programmes. The leaflet will also be available to vets, auctioneers and industry organisations involved in the JAB Joint Action Against Bluetongue Campaign.
