Gist purchases G&S

Based in Scotland, G&S International is said to be a key operator in transport, particularly in the chill and perishables sector, operating in the UK, the Netherlands and Spain.

Martin Gwynn, Gist chief executive, said: "We are delighted to have taken over G&S International and are committed to the continuing provision of the already strong customer service levels being experienced. The addition of the G&S business further strengthens our position as one of the leading chill logistics specialists."

Gist said the G&S operations are a good strategic fit with the firm's already strong presence in the temperature-controlled distribution sector, both in the UK and continental Europe.
