Eblex 'Lamby' costume missing, feared stolen

A costume-hunt has been launched following the theft of the Eblex lamby character from a farm shop in Yorkshire.

Victoria Robertshaw, who runs the shop in Thornton, Bradford, has offered a £50 voucher reward for the return of the Lamby costume, which had been borrowed from a local charity to take part in a fundraising race.

The outfit had been used in the Mascot Gold Cup at Weatherby and was due to be returned to Sue Ryder Care, a health and social care charity, which had taken on the Lamby and Beefy characters following their "retirement" from active service with Eblex.

The outfit was in the back of a 4x4 vehicle which was stolen from the shop in the early hours of the morning, reports said.

Robertshaw is now appealing for the thieves to return the costume: "We can only hope that they will have the heart to return this treasured item, as Beefy will be lost without Lamby."

Anyone with information about the missing costume should contact Victoria on 01274 833472. Alternatively, call Keighley Police on 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
