2 Sisters adds Storteboom to form £1bn business
Birmingham-based processing company 2 Sisters is to buy the Dutch-based poultry business Storteboom Group.
The acquisition of Storteboom adds six sites to the 2 Sisters Group, turning it into a £1 billion-plus turnover business.
Along with the extra £250m turnover from the fresh and frozen Dutch chicken business, 2 Sisters will gain a workforce of 1,250 and three slaughterhouses – two in the Netherlands and one in Poland – processing three million birds a week
According to chief executive Ranjit Singh: "This acquisition is a strategic next step in our long-term business plan, which is focused on growth through long-term partnerships.
"The Storteboom Group and 2 Sisters' existing Dutch business are complementary, providing an established platform to support expansion in Central Europe."
2 Sisters is a subsidiary of Boparan Holdings, and was established in 1993 by Singh. It supplies retail, foodservice and manufacturing companies worldwide.
