Bond to leave Asda

 - Published:  12 April, 2010

Retail boss Andy Bond is to step down from heading up Asda, according to reports.

Bond is reported to be leaving his role as chief executive of the Wal-Mart-owned retailer to take up a position as chairman of Asda's executive committee in a part-time capacity. Bond had been at the chain for the last five years.

Media speculation as to a possible replacement, yet to be announced by Wal-Mart, is already gathering pace, with names including Andy Clarke, Asda's chief operating officer and Mark Price, MD of Waitrose, to the forefront.
