Allprop M Series Scales help Barlows Butchers

"The most recent piece of kit I bought is the M Series Scales from Allprep," says Scott. "It is a cash register as well and speeds things up. It has made things a lot easier: you can control the price, as it reads all the price look-up codes (PLUs) at the end of the week. We've got two shops, so I can see both and control all the prices."

A Q Guild member, Scott took over the business from his dad, David, who in turn inherited the shop from Scott's grandfather, Frank. While many local shops and industries have closed around them, Barlows retails at two premises in Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Newthorpe.

The M series retail system scales and printers are said to feature M2 technology for faster operation, better customer service and reduced ownership costs. New features include enhanced dot matrix graphic displays, print speeds of up to 150mm per second and a standard memory for approximately 3,000 PLUs, which can be expanded up to 10,000 PLUs.
