Yorkshire Dales Meat secures county-wide contract
Yorkshire Dales Meat (YDM) has just been awarded a contract to supply Gifford’s Fine Foods with its range of sausages under its ‘Truly Local’ banner.
The Delicouslyorkshire winners for two years in a row secured the contract after submitting samples of their award-winning sausages, which will now be sold via Gifford’s Fine Foods to their catering customers.
YDM factory manager James Knox said: “Prime cuts of shoulder and belly go into the sausages and the flavours are often developed in-house with variations such as pork, leek and cranberry and pork and caramelised red onion chutney, with the chutney coming from Bracken Hill Fine Foods in Elvington near York.
The YDM sausages will now be available at a number of locations throughout Yorkshire, including the York Museum and York National Railway Museum.
The company added it will also now be supplying an extra line of its burgers in Asda stores in Yorkshire with its Lamb and Mint burgers from the middle of April.
Knox said: “The company will be hoping to build on the sales achieved last year by adding extra lamb burgers alongside the delicious beef burgers, just in time for a sizzling BBQ season.”
