Young butchers gear up for National Butchers' Week
Some of the top young butchers in the UK are gearing up for National Butchers’ Week, which is now only four days away.
Scottish butchers Gary Raeburn and Stewart McClymont of Forbes Raeburn in Huntly and David Bennett and Son in Dunblane respectively have said plans are already in place to celebrate the Week devoted to all things butchery.
Gary Raeburn said: “We are going to do some special offers and set up a Facebook page, so we have a few things going on.”
Meanwhile David Bennett and Son’s Stewart, who is Young Butcher of the Year, added: “For the Week we are going to put out a lot of different products for the customers to taste.”
South of the Border, Charlie Shaw of the Ginger Pig, Borough Market, London, plans to do a special sausage for the Week and rebrand it as a National Butchers’ Week sausage.
National Butchers’ Week runs from 15-20 March and is rapidly becoming an established part of the butchery sector’s calendar.
And don’t forget to order your National Butchers’ Week apron to complete the look for this year’s event. Priced at £12.50, the aprons are the perfect way to show your shop is backing the week. To order, contact Rachael Cannon on 01293 610433, or email her on rachael.cannon@william-reed.co.uk
