Five days to go to National Butchers' Week
|
Down to the final five days before National Butchers' Week and butchers continue their preparations for a week of promotion.
Mark Turnbull, who runs North of England Butcher's Shop of the Year R Turnbull & Son in Alnwick, will be putting the focus on traditional skills during the week.
Mark said: “We are going to do a daily focus on the niche skills a local butcher offers. So, for example, one day will be home-cured bacons and black pudding, and another will be sausages and so on.
“This will be backed up with customer offers, recipe cards and in-store tastings. We quite simply want to put forward the real strengths of butchers.”
National Butchers' Week runs from 15-20 March and is rapidly becoming an established part of the butchery sector’s calendar.
And don't forget to order your National Butchers' Week apron to complete the look for this year's event. Priced at £12.50, the aprons are the perfect way to show your shop is backing the week. To order, contact Rachael Cannon on 01293 610433, or email her on rachael.cannon@william-reed.co.uk
