BBC to launch reality TV farm show

 - Published:  10 March, 2010

A new series from the BBC will pitch couples against one another in a reality TV farm contest.

Ten couples will be tested over a period of six weeks on animal husbandry, harvesting, managing and running a farm and, as the BBC puts it “coping with the unpredictable British weather”.

Pitching for entrants the BBC asked: “Are you sick of the rat race?  Wish your life was more 'Good Life' than 'This Life'? Is a day on the allotment your idea of heaven? Think you can run your own business?”

Filming will take place this summer, and the winning couple will then be able to own and run their own farm.
