SuperMeat sets out its 2010 stall
|
With more than a decade under its belt, this year's SuperMeat & Fish Awards are already starting to take shape.
Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's and The Co-operative, along with their suppliers, will all be fighting it out to take home titles from the UK's leading meat industry awards.
Ed Bedington, editor of MTJ, said: "The SuperMeat & Fish Awards are now into their 11th year and continue to go from strength to strength. The event is the only one of its kind that rewards excellence in meat and fish across the supermarket sector.
"Each year, the competition gets stronger and stronger, and we're looking forward to judging some first-rate products and visiting some of the best supermarket stores the UK has to offer."
Companies looking to enter their products need to get their entries in by 26 March to be in with a chance of taking home a top accolade. This year's event will see a new award category introduced for Best Packaging, as well as the return of last year's new introductions, Best Value Product and Most Sustainable.
These prestigious awards, which will take place at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London, on 1 July, evaluate both products and stores, with one retailer eventually being declared the overall SuperMeat Retailer of the Year.
Last year's winner was The Co-operative, which heavily promoted its win both in-store and through television advertising. The awards will also see the return of the popular Head Office Initiative of the Year and Meat Personality of the Year.
Sponsors so far for the SuperMeat & Fish Awards 2010 are Eblex, Bpex and HCC - Meat Promotion Wales.
