Police warn trade over stolen Cumbrian sheep

Police are appealing for information after a herd of 10 sheep, worth £1,000, which have been injected with the drug Trodax, were stolen from a farm.

The Herdwick ewes, stolen from Greenmount Farm, in Milnthorpe last week, were heavy with lamb at the time, and had the vaccine designed to kill liver fluke injected in them at the beginning of the month.

Cumbrian police have appealed to anyone with information, including any person, restaurant or butcher who may be offered sheep meat from an unknown or suspicious source, to contact them immediately on 0845 33 00 247 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
