Forget the Viagra, tuck into pork
Pork is "better than Viagra", according to South American politicians and UK pig farmers are now hoping to spread the word this Valentine's Day.
Farmers will be calling for pork to be named the official food of love this Valentine's Day, after Argentina's president Cristina Fernandez was quoted as saying: “I didn't know that eating pork improved sexual activity, it is much more gratifying to eat some grilled pork than to take Viagra.”
British Pig Farmers have now awarded her a prestigious banger award in recognition of her services to pork and sausages. Fernandez becomes the first world leader to receive the highest accolade that British pig farmers have to offer.
Bpex chairman Stewart Houston said: “We’ve sent Ms Fernandez a letter to ask her to meet with us and accept one of our prestigious Banger Awards. It is an award to thank her for all her services to pork! We have known how tasty pork is and want to thank Ms Fernandez for sharing the love. We want to make pork the official food for Valentine’s Day, and why not?”
Bpex will now be pushing a number of fruity and romantic recipe ideas to the mainstream media in a bid to capitalise on the comments.
Previous Banger Award winners include: Sir Terry Wogan, Chris Evans, Holly Willoughby, Phil Tufnell and Christine Hamilton.
