Bernard Matthews expands
Bernard Matthews has revealed plans to extend its plant at Halesworth in Suffolk. The company has applied to local Waveney District Council for an extension that would extend production and storage areas.
In the application the company stated: “The proposed development will be used to reorganise processing facilities at the two factories, improving efficiency by creating some additional processing capacity and consolidating packing operations.
"Other existing operations and employee numbers at the Halesworth site are unaffected by these proposals.”
The company has stressed in its application, which will now be considered by the council, that the extension will not increase numbers of lorry movements in and out of the plant.
