Beef and sheep producers are looking for new technologies to make them more efficient and lower their costs and carbon footprint.

The Scottish Meat Trade Fair, held in Perth last month, is reported to have attracted over 400 visitors, with traders seeing high levels of interest.

Leading meat supplier Vion has thrown its weight behind the National Farmers’ Union’s Africa 100 appeal. Vion has pledged its support for the industry-wide appeal which has so far raised more than £160,000 to help support agricultural projects on farms in East Africa.
