Expert sausage-maker Allan Bennett was celebrating success after walking away with the top title of Champion of Champions for the second time.

According to Paddington Bear "marmalade is good to eat" and that certainly proved true for Allan, who runs Allan Bennetts Butchers in Codsall, Wolverhampton. His pork and marmalade sausage wowed judges and beat off competition from at least 20 other champion sausage-makers at MTJ's annual contest in London this week.

Butchers from across the UK will be competing later this month to take home the ultimate title in sausage making MTJ's Champion of Champions.

Entries are already flooding in for MTJ's annual Champion of Champions 2009 awards.

Sausage champions across the UK are in with a chance of taking the ultimate sausage accolade - Champion of Champions. The MTJ-organised event takes award-winning sausages from across the UK and pitches them head-to-head to decide the UK's overall best sausage.

Award-winning sausage-makers will be facing off later this year to see which of them is good enough to take home the title of Champion of Champions.

Around 21 butchers have already entered MTJ's annual Champion of Champions sausage-making competition, which is due to take place at Butcher's Hall in London on 27 October.
