Meat - Pork
There are 4.7 million pigs in the UK, which produces 583,000 tonnes of pork a year. More than 450,000 tonnes of pork is imported although some of this is cured in the UK. The biggest global exporter of pigmeat is Denmark while Germany imports the most. China’s production of 51 million tonnes is the biggest of any country.
